Over the past few years, fashions have changed when it comes to the rear end. A round, plump, and fit buttocks area is now in style, and as a result, many people want to achieve that look. There are, of course, several ways to do just that, starting with rigorous exercise routines. But those exercises are incredibly demanding, and they can require quite a long time to show adequate results. For many people, exercising your way to a rounder rump simply is not practical. The solution, then, is a procedure called a butt augmentation.
The most common form of butt augmentation is something called a Brazilian Butt Lift. During this procedure, fat is removed from an area of the body where you don’t want it—often around the belly, but not exclusively so. That fat is then purified before being injected back into the body—this time in the buttocks. This increases the size of the butt in a way that looks and feels natural, explaining—to a large degree—the popularity of this procedure. For some patients, butt implants (usually constructed of silicone) are available and preferred. Most patients, however, go for the Brazilian Butt Lift option.
During your initial conversation with your plastic surgeon, you will discuss your desired results and how best to achieve those results. A Brazilian Butt Lift is an excellent option for many patients (assuming, of course, there is ample donor material for the procedure—if not, then an implant of some kind may be necessary). During a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, a small incision will be made in the selected donor area, often the belly. A liposuction procedure will then extract the desired amount of fat from that area. That fat is then purified in a centrifuge before being injected in the targeted area (in this case, usually the rear end).
It will take several weeks for the fat injection to “settle.” This essentially means that patients should avoid putting too much pressure on their rear ends (this includes activities as mundane as sitting). This is because it takes some time for the fat to become acclimated to its new environment, and causing the fat trauma (even by sitting) can cause it to become absorbed into the body too quickly, dampening the results. In other words, listening to your surgeon’s post-operating instructions is a vital step in getting the results you’re looking for.
Put simply, the benefits of a butt lift procedure are mainly about having a bigger, rounder, more fit and youthful-looking rear end. A few weeks after your procedure, you’ll really be able to see what the final results look like, and that’s the point at which most patients realize that they love their results. Butt lifts can increase the size of the buttocks, and, as a result, increase self-esteem and self-confidence. For many patients, this also helps clothing fit better, further adding to those self-esteem and self-confidence increases.
In fact, the benefits of a butt lift may include the following:
